Decision Fatigue

With an upcoming interview my mind started to wander about questions, people ask me when they first get to know me. And one of those things that stands out about me is my dedication to wearing black t-shirts. And in thinking about a simple explanation or an easy comparison I remembered a video I saw a few days ago on YouTube. The video by Gabe Bult, titled 50 Minimalist Rules That Changed My Life had a very interesting section talking about decision fatigue. In other words the problem with having to decide every little thing in your life and therefore firstly getting tired by deciding and secondly the decision being less thought through just by the sheer amount of them.

That's exactly what drove my transition to only wearing black t-shirts around 10 years ago. At that time I was very into routines and the more I could get off my mind the more I could focus on improving my life. And where better to start than with things you have to decide every day. But instead of rephrasing what Gabe already explained in his video, I'll let him do the talking:
